The AEC Sales Team from all around the country gathered at AEC headquarters in Paragould in early October for a time of education and training. While in Paragould, the team volunteered for a full day to assist the Paragould Department of Public Works in placing and finishing a concrete basketball court at the local Reynolds Park.
The basketball court will give local children in a nearby neighborhood a place to play safely and become closer as a community. The court used nearly sixty-five cubic yards of concrete, and the Allen team used Allen equipment to place and finish the 90-by-55-foot slab of concrete. Team Allen used its truss screed, HDX605, HDX760, and MSP445 riding trowels, as well as its PRO436E walk-behind trowel to place and finish the basketball court slab.
Typically, during this time of the year, Allen Engineering hosts the Allen Concrete College (ACC) to teach its network of dealers how to increase the flatness and levelness of concrete floors. ACC also educates the participants on about the basics of concrete flooring mix design and the F-Number System. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Allen elected to forgo the 2020 concrete college to focus on creating training videos for end users and dealers of Allen equipment.
